The Regency period ushers in the modern era. Industrialization has begun to change the way people live and work, the railroad is in its infancy, and there are continuous innovations in science. Yet, there is still the romance of an ordered society based around land, dominated by the horse and carriage.

Julia loves the Beau Monde Chapter and being with other writers who are as obsessed with the history of the period as she is. She has been a Beau Monde member for twenty years.
