A voracious reader who began jotting down plot ideas for Nancy Drew novels in her third grade spiral, Julia has published poetry and worked as a business journalist. An avid fan of Georgette Heyer, while unable to work a regular job when her husband was posted at the U.S Embassy in Tunisia, she decided to write her own Regency novel. And never looked back.

A hopeless romantic and adventurer at heart, she discovered her writing passion at the tender age of 8 and has been listening to those voices ever since. She is a sought-after workshop presenter, and juggles freelance editing, multiple volunteer positions, and most of all, her six children. A native of Arizona who recently transplanted to the Pacific Northwest, she and her husband of over twenty years are living proof that there really is a happily ever after.

In England, dueling was part of a long-standing code of honor, far beyond a mere tradition. Gentlemen took their dueling very seriously; they would rather die than be dishonored.

Does your heart go pitter patter just at the sound of that? I admit, at times, mine does.

How many man that honorable do you know? Okay, maybe we’d call it misplaced pride, or an overdeveloped sense of vengeance, but hey, that was a different world with a different set of rules. And yeah, I’m glad they don’t do it these days.

By the Regency Era, dueling was outlawed. However, duels still happened more frequently than many people knew. The problem was, because courts were made up of peers, they were reluctant to charge another peer with murder as a result of a duel.

Elena Greene grew up reading her mother’s Georgette Heyer novels, but it wasn’t until she went on an international assignment to the United Kingdom that she was inspired to start writing her own.

Her first Regency romance was published in 2000 and was followed by five more Regencies and a novella.

Her books have won the Desert Rose Golden Quill and Colorado Romance Writers’ Award of Excellence.

Her Super Regency, LADY DEARING’S MASQUERADE, won RT Book Club’s award for Best Regency Romance of 2005.

Elena lives in upstate New York with her stroke survivor husband and two daughters.

Donna’s passion for writing began at age 8 when she wrote her first short story. During her sophomore year in high school, she wrote her first full-length novel, which was recently published.

Her writing has won or been nominated as a finalist in many writing awards including the Whitney, SARA Merritt, and Golden Quill. In between caring for six children, (7 counting her husband), her day job, and her many volunteer positions, she manages to carve out time to indulge in her writing obsession.

A native of Arizona, she writes Regency Romance and Fantasy. And yes, all of her heroes are patterned after her husband of over 21 years, who continues to prove that there really is a happily ever after.

Diane’s dream came true in 2003 with an unexpected phone call from England.                      The Harlequin Mills & Boon editor who judged her Regency Historical manuscript in the Golden Heart wanted to buy it—and it also won!

Diane’s Regencies have gone on to win RWA’s most prestigious RITA award, the National Readers Choice Award, The Orange Rose (now Bookseller’s Best), the Golden Quill and Holt Medallion.

She continues to write for Harlequin Historical. A member of Beau Monde for at least a decade, Diane enjoys being among like-minded people who love the Regency as much as she does.
