Membership in The Beau Monde (TBM), a special chapter of the Romance Writers of America (RWA), includes access to a wide range of valuable online resources. The RWA University offers ongoing courses for romance writers, in addition to maintaining a library of useful documents and hosting a forum in support of each class. (Member log in required.)

TBM PAN Community

This is the myRWA hub for the Beau Monde’s Published Author Network (PAN), with a forum and files section. (Member log in required.)


This is the general discussion forum for the Beau Monde’s Published Author Network. Here, published authors can find a range of information on the publishing industry, promotional opportunities for their books, and other issues of interest to published authors and interact with other published authors. TBM PRO Community

The area of the myRWA site for those authors who are in pursuit of a professional writing career but have not yet had a manuscript accepted for publication. This area includes the PRO Community’s Discussion Forum, Announcements, and File library. (Member log in required.)

TBM Community Main Page

The is the home page for the Beau Monde special interest group. This page provides a list of upcoming TBM Events, plus links to the TBM Members-only Blog, the TBM Forums, as well as the File Library, Chapter History, Contacts, and Media Centre, plus the Chapter Calendar and Polls. The TBM Members-Only Blog

News about chapter activities, research articles, good news from members, updates from board members and committee chairs, and the latest book releases. This is also the new home of our members-only newsletter, The Quizzing Glass, which includes articles on various aspects of Regency history, specifically for authors, by our members. The TBM File Library

This library includes a collection of files with chapter information, such a bylaws and member rosters. Also available here are various ‘How To’ instruction sheets and back issues of our public newsletters, The Regency Reader. (Member log in required.)

The TBM Media Centre

This collection of media has been made available by our members for use by our members. Members can upload images here for use in blog and forum posts, or to share with other members. (Member log in required.)

This forum is open for any type of discussion and subjects have ranged from help with a specific point of Regency history to suggestions on dealing with recalcitrant copy editors to discussion about today’s readers of Regency romance novels.

In this section of the forum, members can request critique assistance from other members on their Regency romances in progress.

TBM Working on the Web

In this section of the forum, members can get or share information on how to increase the search engine optimization of their web sites and blogs, get the most out of social media and protect themselves online, among others.

The Regency Realm/The Regency Wiki

This TBM Wiki includes the substantial annotated bibliography of books on all aspects of Regency history which is maintained by the Beau Monde. It is continually updated by members, who share their views on each book. There are also pages which explain how to get the best from your local library when doing research and a list of sources for acquiring out-of-print and rare books. (Member log in required.)

The Regency Academe

This page lists all the classes on aspects of Regency history and the writing industry offered by Beau Monde.

The Royal Ascot Contest

This is the Beau Monde’s annual contest for unpublished authors of Regency-set romances. Entries can be made in several categories and are judged by professionals in the industry.

The Regency Reader

The Regency Reader is the Beau Monde’s free newsletter which provides a list of new Regency book releases for the month, and an article on some aspect of Regency history. This email newsletter is available to anyone who wishes to subscribe.

The Regency Encyclopedia

The Regency Encyclopedia is affiliated with the Jane Austen Society of North America and includes a variety of period resources. They have kindly allowed Beau Monde members access to their extensive encyclopedia.
