Shereen Vedam – Featured Beau Monde Author

Shereen Vedam

Shereen Vedam, a fantasy and regency author, is today’s Featured Beau Monde Author.

She has published several short stories but her one and only published regency short story (with no magic involvement whatsoever) is available for sale through The Wild Rose Press and is called To Capture Love.  This short story has garnered some very nice reviews, such as this one :

Coffee Time Romance Review – Reviewed by: Maura – Sensuality rating: Sweet

I loved the way Pauline is able to live in both worlds, as a marriageable young woman of society, and as a very talented artist, all with the approval of her family. This is a great story that fans of this genre will definitely want to read.

Recently, one of Shereen’s unpublished novels (The Coven At Callington) was chosen as one of six semi finalists in Terry Pratchett’s Anywhere But Here, Anywhen But Now fantasy contest.

Set in 1815, Cornwall, England, this is a tale of a witch and a church guard who become entangled in Church politics and a battle with the fey.  This light-hearted romance is an alternate-history fantasy that takes a quirky look at the strengths and weaknesses of love, magic and religious beliefs.

J.L. Langley – Featured Beau Monde Author

J.L. Langley
JL is a full-time writer, with over ten novels to her credit.

Among her hobbies she includes reading, practicing her marksmanship (she happens to be a great shot), gardening, working out (although she despises cardio), searching for the perfect chocolate dessert (so far as she can tell ALL chocolate is perfect, but it requires more research) and arguing with her husband over who the air compressor and nail gun really  belongs to (they belong to JL, although she might be willing to trade him for his new chainsaw)

Vicky Dreiling – Featured Beau Monde Author

Photo of author Vicky DreilingVicky Dreiling

Vicky Dreiling, our featured Beau Monde Author, is a confirmed historical romance junkie and Anglophile.

Frequent business trips to the UK allowed her to indulge her passion for all things Regency England. Bath, Stonehenge, and Spencer House are among her favorite places. She is, however, truly sorry for accidentally setting off a security alarm in Windsor Castle. That unfortunate incident led her British colleagues to nickname her “Trouble.”

When she’s not writing, Vicky enjoys reading, films, concerts, and most of all, long lunches with friends. She holds degrees in English literature and marketing. A native Texan, she shares her home with her daughter and a spoiled mini-lop rabbit that lives in a slightly gnawed cardboard cottage.

Added News – Vicky will sign HOW TO SEDUCE A SCOUNDREL and HOW TO MARRY A DUKE at the “Readers for Life” Literacy Autographing on Tuesday, June 28, from 5:30–7:30 p.m at the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square.

Ann Lethbridge – Featured Beau Monde Author

Ann Lethbridge

Our Featured Beau Monde Author is the chapter’s current President and tireless worker, Ann Lethbridge.

She regularly attends, assists, and signs books at both chapter and national romance writing conferences in Canada and the USA. She also attended the inaugrual Australian Romance Readers Convention in 2009.

Romance Writers of America, the Beau Monde chapter, plus the other chapters she is involved with, are appreciative of Ann’s knowledge, expertise, and her willingness to share her valuable time to help other authors.

An army brat born in England, Ann lived all over the UK in her youth. She grew up loving history, but majored in business, with history on the side.

Now living in Canada, she has a husband and two lovely daughters and a Maltese Terrier called Teaser, who likes to sit on a chair beside the computer while she works.

She loves the Georgian era, and within that, the period known as the long Regency. She also adores happy endings.

You will find her print books in bookstores in the month of issue, as well as on line where you will also find her e-books.

Susan Gee Heino – Featured Beau Monde Author

Susan Gee Heino

Susan began her writing career as a Theatre student, where she discovered writing plays for others to perform was much easier than memorizing lines and showing up to rehearsal every day. After several years working in forsaken little theatres, she settled into her current role as preacher’s wife and child herder.

To preserve her sanity, she took her love of Historical Romance and turned her focus back onto writing. In 2008, she won Romance Writers of America’s prestigious Golden Heart ® Award in the Regency Historical category.

MISTRESS BY MISTAKE was released in 2009 by Berkley Publishing. DAMSEL IN DISGUISE, came out in 2010 and TEMPTRESS IN TRAINING will hit shelves in July of 2011. She is currently working on the fourth book in this series.

Regina Scott- Featured Beau Monde Author

Regina Scott is our Beau Monde Author under the spotlight today. She’s been a member of the Beau Monde since 1996 and served as published author liaison, conference chair, and in 2011 president-elect. Later in 2011, she will step up to become our new President.

Regina started writing novels in the third grade. Thankfully for literature as we know it, she didn’t actually sell her first novel until she had learned a bit more about writing. Since her first book was published in 1998, her stories have traveled the globe, with translations in many languages including Dutch, German, Italian, and Portuguese.

She’s written for both adults and teens, with fourteen novels and four novellas to her credit, all set in the Regency period. She and her husband of over 20 years reside in southeast Washington State.

Regina is a decent fencer and owns a historical costume collection that takes up over a third of her large closet.
